Brod Leopoldo "Babes" Calixto III '92 has been inducted as the new president of the Rotary Club of Pasay District 3810.

Mr. Calixto is a businessman and community leader who heads Cancohoy Farms in Siargao; he also co-founded the Muhravah Foundation over a decade ago. The foundation operates within the farming communities around Mt. Mayon in the Bicol Region and helps provide support to farmers by building long-term profitable enterprises.

He also serves as Special Assistant to Rep. Francisco Jose F. Matugas II of Siargao Island, Surigao Del Norte and was instrumental in helping lead relief operations in the aftermath of Typhoon Odette which devastated Siargao in 2021. His collaboration with government agencies, non-profits and the private sector proved crucial in providing much needed aid to Siargao Island.

Mr. Calixto was also pivotal in leading the biggest international event in Siargao - the Siargao International Surfing Cup in 2022. This event helped elevate Siargao as one of the top surfing and island tourist destinations in the world.

"This occasion marks not just a change in leadership, but also an exciting chapter in our journey to serve, inspire, and transform our community. Exciting, not just because we have overcome one of the most depressing and challenging times of our history but more so because we are faced with the task of creating hope and a new beginning of possibilities," said Mr. Calixto.

Present during the induction ceremony were RC Pasay past president Caloy Ocampo '85, Jorenz Tañada '92, Mark Gutierrez '92, Pong Ponferrada '97, Pep Sandejas '97, Eric Pasion '04, Alvin Galves '08 and Jose Escalante '12.

District 3810 covers the cities of Manila and Pasay, the suburban areas, and the provinces of Cavite and Occidental Mindoro and has over 50 clubs.
