Brods Participate in UPLB Mosquito Misting Operation

Published October 8, 2024

Last September 7, 2024, the Upsilon Sigma Phi participated as one of the partners for UPLB’s annual university-wide mosquito misting operation, spearheaded by the Institute of Weed Science, Entomology, and Plant Pathology (IWEP) of the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences, in collaboration with the Office of the Chancellor, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs.

The Crop Protection Association of the Philippines, along with various pest control operators based in Southern Luzon, fielded service technicians to apply the pesticides using proper equipment. The different private institutions and companies played a large role in providing pesticide and sponsoring meals for the technicians and staff.

The fraternity’s resident fellows served as facilitators and the documentation team for the day. The misting operation focused on mosquito hotspots around campus, with special attention to dormitories and offices.
