HEALTH SECRETARY HERBOSA REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE
Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa expressed the Philippines' commitment to universal health care (UHC) at the United Nations General Assembly high level meeting held on September 21 in New York City.
The Health Chief affirms the country's abiding commitment to achieving UHC by prioritizing policies that align investment strategies with a primary healthcare focus, revitalizing subnational health systems, and reinforcing interventions tackling social determinants of health.
He also called for stronger cohesive actions for the Global Code of Practice on International Recruitment of Health Workers so that as the Philippines contribute skilled professionals globally, we simultaneously benefit from international collaborations in enhancing local healthcare capacities.
