For the first time in Philippines winter sports history, the country will be fielding a men's and women's team in the upcoming 2023 Pan Continental Curling Championships to be held from October 29 to November 4 in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.

"For the first time, the Philippine men’s and women’s national curling teams will be competing at a World Curling Federation regional championship in Kelowna, BC as part of the country’s quest to qualify for the 2026 Olympics," said Benjo Delarmente, president of the Philippine National Sports Association for Curling (Curling Pilipinas).

"I would love to connect with the local Filipino-Canadian community in the area so that they could support our teams at the tournament.," Delarmente added.

The World Curling Federation, the governing body of Olympic and Paralympic curling, admitted the Philippines as it's 73rd member association in the World Curling Congress held in Seoul, South Korea earlier this month.

The Philippines' entry into the competition was precipitated by the withdrawal of the Kazakh men's and women's teams. The Philippine men's and women's teams will be competing in Group B. The men's team is grouped together with Brazil, China, Hong Kong, India, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia while the women's team is grouped together with Brazil, China. Hong Kong, Jamaica, Kenya, Mexico and Nigeria.
