Honoring Excellence: USPAA Announces the New UNO Awardees

The Upsilon Sigma Phi Alumni Association (USPAA) proudly announces the recipients of the Upsilonian Noble & Outstanding (UNO) Award, recognizing exemplary fellows whose lives and achievements embody the fraternity’s highest ideals of Brotherhood, Integrity, Excellence, Leadership, and Service.

Launched in 1985, the UNO Award is the fraternity’s most prestigious honor, celebrating members who inspire others through their unparalleled contributions to their fields and society in general. These individuals are shining examples of the Upsilon Sigma Phi’s enduring legacy of leadership and service, which has flourished for over 106 years.

As part of the upcoming 20th Biennial Upsilon Congress, the USPAA will officially honor the 2024 UNO Awardees in a grand ceremony on February 8, 2025, at the Ang Bahay ng Alumni in U.P. Diliman.

This year’s UNO Awardees are leaders, innovators, and changemakers across various fields:

Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin Marcos Sr. ’37

Transformative figure in Philippine politics, former President of the Philippines.

Jorge Abella Gonzalez ’39

Cai Monteser is the Executive Director of the Upsilon Sigma Phi Alumni Association, where he supports standing committees and oversees daily operations of the Upsilon Leadership Institute. A graduate of the University of the Philippines Los Baños with a degree in Development Communication, he is also the Managing Editor of The Upsilon Sun. In his professional role, Cai serves as the Technical Assistant to the President/CEO of PRIME ELECTRIC Holdings Inc, contributing to strategic initiatives and executive operations.
