Joey Azurin 2018 Places First in International Pharmacy Students Federation (IPSF) Competition

𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 '𝗝𝗼𝗲𝘆' 𝗤. 𝗔𝘇𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟴 captured first place in the Traditional Patient Counseling Competition and finished in the top five of the Advanced Clinical Skills Competition, held during the 69th IPSF World Congress in Incheon, South Korea from August 9 to 17, 2024.

The IPSF (International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation) World Congress is an annual event that brings together student pharmacists worldwide for discussions, workshops, and competitions focused on pharmacy education and healthcare. Joey was the sole representative from the United States for both competitions which concluded at the end of the Congress on August 17.

Previously, Fellow Joey received the 2024 APhA Student Leadership Award, 2024 USA Ton Hoek Scholarship Award, and the 2023 Excellence in Public Health Pharmacy Award from the USPHS. From 2020-2021, he worked as a certified pharmacy technician at CVS Pharmacy and a compounding technician at River's Edge Pharmacy.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from UP Manila in 2020, where he served as Assistant Secretary of the Federation of Junior Chapters of the Philippine Pharmacists Association National Council (FJCPPhA) and Secretary for External Affairs of UP Pharmaceutical Association (UPPhA). He is also a member of Phi Lambda Sigma's Gamma Beta Chapter. Joey is pursuing his Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy at Loma Linda University in San Bernardino County, California.
